I know this doesn’t really have any beauty angle, but oh my goodness, look at these loo rolls! However, if you’re a packaging fan, then this is just one more example of how Asia takes it on creative and kawaii ideas. I’m still madly baking my Japanese Cake Rolls (I’m telling you, they’re a trend waiting to happen).
Apparently, stores in Japan often give a roll of toilet paper to their customers to show their appreciation. Why doesn’t that happen here?? I want novelty loo roll!

Where my in laws live – just outside Tokyo. They get free loo rolls in exchange for their recycling. Also, people who hand out flyers in Japan – usually give out tissues too. So handy no?
Never seen these in regular supermarkets but will keep an eye out when I go back!
Ooh, how unusual but I love it! Always makes me giggle how different some cultural norms can be. I’d love to get handed a free loo roll, especially if it was packaged as beautifully as these are but I can imagine some people would get rather offended by that particular goodwill gesture! x

I never got loo rolls, only packets of kleenex. However, the best freebie was when they were giving out cans of Asahi beer in the streets of Tokyo…THAT was the BEST!
