In celebration of Illamasqua’s fifth birthday (I can hardly believe it’s only five!) there’s a stellar themed collection with a difference: The Creators. As we know, Illamasqua was an early adopter of the power of bloggers and one of the first beauty brands to really understand the influence we can create within the beauty world. The Creators is an acknowledgement of how important bloggers have been in contributing to the success of Illamasqua.
Two lip glosses and two polishes have been created by four bloggers – or Guest Creators – to make their ultimate products. Above, top, is Sheer Lipgloss in Culminate (£14), devised by Milly Tomalin over at PearlsandPoodles.com, in a peachy-copper fusion that’s light on the lip with an iridescent finish. The darker shade, Intense Lipgloss in Wanderlust (£14.50) is created by Munroe Bergdorf at munroebergdorf.tumblr.com, inspired by oil on water and is the deepest metallic khaki.
Next, we have Nail Varnish in Fusion (£14.50), a golden blend with dark undertones, created by Yinka Odusote at Vexinthecity.com. And, last but not least, and my favourite product, Nail Varnish in Perseid (£14.50), an inky purple-navy polish, packed with sparkles, by Suzi Tse at www.stylesuzi.com.
I’ve swatched the polishes in artificial light so you can see how the shimmer comes through.
The Creators collection launches on the Illamasqua website later this month. It just goes to show, given the right tools, that creativity is something that beauty bloggers are brilliant at!

I don’t wear dark colours on my nails, but I love the sparkle in Perseid

The hues for both these polishes appear to be very nice indeed. I will have to try them both!
