Chantecaille’s newest colour palettes, La Baleine, are picture pretty and dazzlingly clever technically; 5% of proceeds go to the International Union for Conservation of Nature that helps protect the high seas. So far, so good. But the whacking great price they’re asking for it ($98, so I’m guessing about £75) is scary. In the past, Chantecaille have supported Bengal tigers, fish and butterflies. And 5% (roughly £3.50 from each palette sold) doesn’t seem like much, somehow, bearing in mind these palettes are limited edition. I’m no penny pincher when it comes to make up but I can’t see how it can possibly be worth it. Maybe snap up a more cost friendly palette and donate your own amount to IUCN, and still save? Just a credit crunch thought.

I love Chantecaille, but their prices are eye wateringly high, even for a beauty junkie like me!
The palettes are beautiful though..I’d pay £50 but £75 is really pushing it.
