Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

The new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is so tricky to photograph because as its name might suggest, it’s all about tricks of the light. Although this shade, Radiant Magenta looks warm, it can also look cool, depending upon the light. Radiant Magenta is one of six new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes (£25) launching next month and it’s a blend of the notoriously popular Ambient Lighting Powder and cheek colour.

There is plenty of gold in the backdrop of Radiant Magenta and it does show on the skin – so if you don’t like shimmer this isn’t for you. The blush diffuses at a low intensity on the skin when used with a brush, so if you want a higher degree of colour, then you’ll also get a higher degree of golden shimmer. The other shades in the range are Mood Exposure, a soft, complexion brightening plum, Diffused Heat, a poppy shade, Ethereal Glow, a cool pink, Dim Infusion, subdued coral and Luminous Flush, a champagne rose. Temptalia has done them more justice photography wise than I can so check her pictures HERE.

I’ve just done a quick check around the retailers to see if anyone has uploaded them early, but they haven’t so it’s a waiting game. Stockists are Netaporter, Liberty, SpaceNK and some John Lewis stores. They’re on pre-order at SpaceNK HERE.

  1. The blush itself is really pretty! I’m a sucker for swirly. The colour isn’t bad either but very pink!

  2. Oh this is so pretty! I’m a sucker for anything shimmery 🙂

  6. The packaging looks so so pretty, but I’ve moved on to more matte blushes at the moment. This does look gorgeous though and looks like it would be nice for summer evenings.

I am still quietly seething at myself for spending (wasting) money on the Ambient Lighting Powder along with the brush before Xmas at Space NK – I’m sorry but I think they’re the most overpriced/overhyped cosmetic on the planet and I must move them out of my makeup box after writing this post as the grinding of my teeth when I see both items each day does my jaw no good at all. Used 3 times!! When will I learn? However, I do think their eyebrow pencil is one of the best I’ve used, as is their lipgloss. Grrrrr!
