Hmm, I Think I Found My Limit. Cle de Peau Extra Rich Lipstick

Yes, I will pay £35 for a Tom Ford lipstick. I will. But, would I pay $60 for a Cle de Peau lippie? I don’t think I could. The new lipsticks are amazing in design with a baguette facetted tip designed to create smooth and natural lines that must have been hell on earth to get right at design and production level, and it is the first lipstick to contain Vitamin A Acetate, but $60? A Acetate apparantly helps to get rid of lines on the lip and also ensure your lips stay moisturised for a smooth look…pigments are specially created with spherical powders that don’t dull….the colours are inspired by a rose garden…it’s all stacking up to being pretty irrisistible, but I do baulk at $60. Do you?

LOL – I’m waiting for an Edit or PS to this post!

  2. Still not hitting Serge Lutens levels though.

But I must say, these look beautiful. I’m not like the Tom Ford aesthetic enough to cough up £35.

    whoaaaaaaaaaa no frickin’ way….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I wouldn’t pay £35 for a Tom Ford lippie, I even baulk at £13 for a Illamasqua nail polish…!

    I guess I’m tight =P

    xx

If I had that much money left to spend on beauty products and there would be a colour that I really like,I think I would buy it.

I wouldn’t pay £35 for a Tom Ford lipstick or $60 for this. Style over substance. It’s so cheesy to be so bling- the exact opposite of the vibe they are aiming for.

I think $60 actually converts to around 35 quid…so basically they are the same price!

$60 is £39 – so £4 more than Mr.Ford. Not too bad a deal if you’re popping to the states – but with postage applied, taxes and custom fees it probably would come to about £55.

  8. Hmmm – whats $60 in £?

My “level” changes all the time, depending on how much spare cash I have (precious little at the moment lol), and how much I have fallen in love with something…. I never say never, because I know what I’m like!

And no shopping for the rest of the month

  10. $60 is hardly more than £35. But I wouldn’t pay either. I draw the line at £25 for Guerlain G lipsticks or £23.50 for Chanel Rouse Allure Laque.

  11. Well, the sad thing is that YSL lipsticks are here approx. $50 so that’s not that far when you think about it. Of course, I would never pay that much for a lipstick. If I ever did – it had to apply it itself and stuff like that, lol 😀

I was fortunate to be given 3 of these and they are just wonderful!! I don’t know if I would pay for it, but believe me…..it’s worth every penny lol
