Well, when you find one square liptick, a whole lot of square lipsticks reveal themselves! This is Hard Candy’s version of the square stick – Hard Candy Ombre Lipstick. Ombre because it’s actually two tone, so you’ll get two different shades on your lips in one swipe.
Visiting the Hard Candy US site, I got a bit of a shock – the brand has diverged into clothes (think Juicy Couture) and accessories as well as make-up. I think that’s quite an interesting concept – imagine an Urban Decay dress, Kiko trainers or a Chantecaille cashmere shawl! Would you? I know all the big luxury brands started with fashion – Dior, Chanel, etc – but I can’t think of another recent high street make-up brand that has moved from primer to pjs.
Hard Candy is now, I think, exclusive to Walmart in the US. I’m definitely picking one of the Hard Candy Ombre Lipstick shades when I’m in New York next month. I wasn’t going to buy any beauty at all, but this is too tempting.
