Aesthetically speaking, this is my favourite item from the Gwen/Urban range – it’s the dinkiest little box of brow magic and a re-invention of the existing Urban Decay Brow Box (£ 19 here). In the Gwen Stefani collection, there is only this one, Bathwater Blonde (great name) and it’s ideally aimed at blonde through to brunette. The top tier has powders and wax, and the bottom tier holds the tools.
The box literally fits in the palm of your hand, so these tools are so tiny it’s like they were made for fairies – if you’re clumsy (like me) I think you might struggle. They’re really not much bigger than matches!
Samples in the UK are in short supply, so I have one rather lovely lipstick to show you – Ex-Girlfriend, a sheer neutral shade that is perfect for me, but if you want to go bold, not so perfect. So, I’ve swatched up (again) the lipsticks from the sample card that comes with the palette for comparison. On the USA site, where these have already gone live, the entire collection is completely sold out, so when it launches here that’s an indication to be quick off the mark!
Texture wise, this feels very moisturising – almost glossy – and has a lovely sheen to it. It’s light on pigment so your natural lip colour will show through a little which I think is pretty, but if you want full coverage, this isn’t it.
Introducing KateCeuticals #Ad
I guess it’s kind of a pinky toffee shade. Very wearable.
From bottom to top: Rocksteady (cream), 714 (Mega Matte), Ex-Girlfriend (sheer), Firebird (Cream)… and er, Ex-Girlfriend again! In the little sample pods, Ex-Girlfriend comes out a much darker shade, so I’m not sure how accurate the pod shades are.
I still don’t have a release date or UK prices for these, but obviously, as soon as I spot them live, I’ll let you know.
