Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum
Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum

It’s becoming more and more common for beauty brands to add a fragrance into their summer collections. At the creative end, it needs to have relevance to the range and once you start ramping up the colour, adding bronzers and giving an overall impression of the vibrance of summer then a scent can sit very well within a collection.

Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum is a perfect example of this, from its sun motif that’s the same as the motif on the Terracotta Sun Celebration Powder than I showed last week, to the colour of the fragrance – a golden bronze shade – and finally, the scent.

I think the words ‘summer in a bottle’ are over-used, but there isn’t a better description for Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum that will send your nose to a lush, tropical Hawaiian garden, if not (sadly) your entire physical being. It is the scent of expensive holidays, of sun-tan lotion, cocktails, searing sun and flower-wrapped beaches. It’s a place that doesn’t, in reality, exist, but oh, if it did, Terracotta is what it would smell like!

Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum is the translation of the scent of the Terracotta powder into a bottle of tiare flower, ylang-ylang and vanilla lushness. It’s warm on the skin and the kind of smell you can’t stop wanting more of. Snap it up as soon as you see it from May 2nd at House of Fraser, £45.
