Honestly, I’m blown away by the Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation Liquid. It’s just so good! I would flag it as a Beauty+ product purely for the fact that it does that radiance thing and ultra-hydration thing that younger skin types aren’t so in need of. It’s also packed with collagen boosters (hexapeptides) that make it feel like silk on the skin. The coverage is medium weight, and after I’d put it on, I would say my complexion looked as near to flawless (that old beauty term!) as it can get.
Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation has iridescent pigments to diffract the light – that’s not really anything new, but I did like the brightening effect and the freshness of the finish. I can’t say the same for the Compact Version – the difference in feel on the skin is like night and day with the compact having a much drier texture. However, if you have oily skin, it might be that this formula suits you better, because the fluid version is sheeny on the skin.
In the Fluid version there are 12 shades, and the compact has 8 shades – it’s the usual story though of not catering to women of colour, which is really a shame – the darkest colour is Dore Moyen which certainly isn’t a match for very dark skin tones.
Right, so brace yourselves for the price. The Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation Fluid is £55 (SPF30) and the Compact is £56 (SPF15). However, it really does feel like something very special on your skin – I’d pay it (and use it for special occasions only!).
Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation launches in October.

Oh I’m all over this Jane – dewy & medium coverage sounds like my dream formula!

Just so everyone knows this is a package re issue. The same product is in store today (in old less sexy packaging it must be said) at 10% off. Just bought mine.
The formula is different – it contains key ingredient, hexapeptide, a synthetic peptide that contains
arginine, glutamic, glutamine and methionine. The older formula that you have just bought doesn’t have this x
Oh thanks for that clarification Jane. The counter girls didn’t seem to know?
What does that additional ingredient add in terms of skin benefit?
I have to say even without the hexapeptide it’s a great base; even knocking my other new favourite Charlotte Tilbury’s off the top spot. x
I love it.. I think it’s one of the best.. it’s basically a collagen encourager I guess you would say – better to have than not have, but you’d also get it in your day cream (anything with peptides) or night cream. Not essential in a foundation but since it sits on your skin all day, I think it’s good that it’s there. They’ve also changed the illuminating particles – a finer consistency I think.
Perfect excuse to restock in a few months then! And I shall be. Thanks
What do you think which colour i need i’m a nc20! Thank you 🙂
So sorry, I don’t know.. it’s too hard to match x
