The Guerlain Ecrin 4 Couleurs Palettes are on my radar for a smack of luxury beauty for autumn. Three colourways in muted, architectural shades are all about understated style. I think that Guerlain sometimes gets a little overlooked – they don’t launch products at the same rate as other luxury brands, but when they do, they’re always immaculate in terms of presentation and quality. The palette above is Les Aciers; smoky greys with a sliver of shimmering silver to highlight. If you love a deep and smoked look, this has everything.
Personally, Les Aciers is spot on for me – there’s so much I can do with this palette, from plain grey lids with a flick of black liner to the full smudge above and below the lash lines.
The second palette, Les Sables, is a collection of wearable nudes – again, it’s a very versatile palette with room to add depth or not, just as you like. The shades are soft and super blendable – if you’re good with nudes, put it on your shopping list.
The festoon pattern on each colour is often seen on Guerlain’s fragrance bottles and Les Meteorites – it’s a house signature design, just as bees are, but even digging around on the internets, I can’t find any direct reason why Guerlain loves a festoon!
The Guerlain Ecrin 4 Couleurs palettes have already launched for £39 each (but I’ve spotted them for £35.10 HERE) – there is one more palette that I don’t have to swatch in a purple/violet combo. In my view, it’s the least wearable.
