[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I could do a whole week on Glossier products that I like – certain products crop up in daily use and now along comes the Monochrome palette collection to join the line up. In short, the refillable trios contain one matte, one satin and one metallic meaning that it will see you through all options. I’ve used Mist with a matte lid and added the metallic over the top although I like it equally on a bare lid because it more of a glimmer veil.

As you can see in Mist (above) it’s not so much that the colour theme is diverse – the finish is where it all happens. There are ten shade trio options and they all fit into an enhanced neutral theme so (as yet) you won’t find any brights.

I’m thinking of these as the cashmeres of your make up wardrobe – luxuriously soft, texturally pleasing and effortlessly stylish. I shouldn’t really categorise make up by age but the reason these are so appealing to me is because of their pared back nature – it’s the sort of make up I want to wear now in a kind of less is more way but with extra dimension as an option.

I’ve swatched quite generously but these are as happy with a quick swipe of the brush as they are with some layering or depth. Top is Mist and bottom is Heather. I’m keen on Mist with its lavender accents but could equally see myself getting right into the middle shade of Heather. Bluff is another to look out for in pale pinks and Prairie in Olive tones is a gorgeous autumn choice. I think these are exceptionally good value at £19 HERE. I’m also going to give another shout out to Solar Paint in Ray or Flare for giving some lightful sheen to cheeks in a low key glow that just lifts the complexion without showering your face in shimmer. Nice for winter looks where the light is low and chunky jumpers are essential. It’s £17 HERE.
