I’ve now done my first wash and blow dry after the Global Keratin treatment. It works. After washing, I was intitially worried because my hair seemed as curly as ever, BUT once I took the hairdrier to it, it dried really quickly using just a paddle brush and maybe two or three times a barrell brush. There was absolutely no need for straighteners – my hair still has a light wave at the ends and if I wanted it poker straight, then I would have to get the straighteners out – and absolutely zero frizz. Zero. My hair looks glossy, shiny and natural. Nice one.
If you’ve done research on straightening treatments, you can’t escape the thorny issue of Formaldehyde, without which these treatments simply can’t work. In the course of research, I discovered that Global Keratin have very recently been banned from Ireland for using too much Formaldehyde – the EU dictates that no more than 0.2% can be used. In fact, this appears to be a voluntary withdrawal of a batch that was mistakenly sent to Ireland when in fact, it was destined for America where the legal limits are higher and stronger treatments are offered. If you are offered a treatment that contains more than 0.2% Formaldehyde then the practitioners and the brand are breaking EU law.
