Well, I am really going to struggle to descibe these new offerings from Giorgio Armani – they’re kind of incredible in that they are matte glosses. Weird. It’s a very unusual formula that feels absolutely feather-light on the lip and goes on a sort of wet-matte but dries to a glowy-matte.

Pigment wise – they’re high, high pigment because the formulators have left out any white base, and they have a very big doe’s foot applicator; I thought it a little too big to be honest, but it’s flexible and soft.

They say:  “For a truly saturated lip colour that shines from within, Giorgio Armani Cosmetics has created a revolutionary, colour backlighting technology. Light interacts with the pigments and is then bounced back, intensifying colour. Your lips appear backlit, fuller and irresistible.” Which explains a little bit how it is that your lips can look matte but a bit luminous as well. They’re very clever.

They’re launching exclusively at Harrods from 1st December and also www.armanibeauty.co.uk and will cost £25 each.
