Friday Treat : Spring Things

[unpaid/affiliate] Spring is the time where we want to run before we can walk – there’s something about the light change that makes you want to dig out your strappy tops and linen trousers but in reality, it’s too bloody freezing still for that. I like to make a Friday post that’s not beauty related so I’ve done some ‘faffing about on the internet’ and come up with a couple of ideas for fashion pieces that sate the desire for colour and uplift but hopefully will still keep you cosy. I’ve also spotted a few buys that are more summery but they’ll be gone before you can break out the ice-lollies which is why I’m flagging them now (as someone who is still, a year later, sore at missing out on a black and white Me & Em perfect-in-every-way t-shirt because I wasn’t quick enough, you’ll understand why).

Hush Sweater

If this is not saying walk on the beach, I don’t know what will. This hoodie, which is typical of Hush’s laid back style, is versatile – jeans, white trousers, shorts, skirts and dress cover up all hit the mark. Ditto under your raincoat while the April showers continue. It’s a wool blend so needs a cool wash but it’s the kind of sloppy-chic that will take you anywhere you need to be warm but vibrant. It’s just popped up in the sale and was £129 but is now £90.50 HERE.

Again, Hush bringing it home for colour lovers who can’t bear to be chilly. I love Hush sweatshirts – they’re always the right side of baggy and encompassing – great for a pub lunch, walks anywhere and lounging about because you cannot be bothered to a) walk or b) pub. It was £68 but is now £48.50. All sizes other than XL are available HERE.

I’ll admit, my mind went straight to summer with this item – just the thing to pack for holidays and high days. It’s also got a fashion name I’ve never heard before – a bomber cardigan! Who knew? I absolutely love this for being a bit of a jacket and a bit of a cardigan at the same time but twice as easy as either for chucking on over jeans in a kind of laisse faire way and looking absolutely excellent for it.

I think this will sell out in a flash – I’ve just ordered one – and you don’t need me to tell you that it will elevate literally anything you care to put underneath. It’s in all sizes except XS (I’m ordering M) up to XL and is £119 HERE.

There’s a lace version too and again, it’s just such a cool thing to wear for summer vibes. It’s the same price HERE.

The final item – denim is such a strong trend but to date, the denim dresses I’ve looked at are all a bit bulky – either with a utility angle or just very stiff looking. This dress, from Hush (not in the sale, sorry), looks quite soft and drapey as well as flattering for all shapes and sizes. It’s just a pop on and go kind of a dress, an easy wear that you don’t have to think about and a bit of a Scandi vibe that everyone will clock. It’s a lightweight denim and available in sizes 4-18 HERE.
