French Tip Dip

Anything that makes a French tip easier is good in my book – not least because it’s the best thing ever for covering up chips! The French Tip Kit is a genius idea – a little plastic tool that creates a tip in one swipe.

You pour some polish into the little pot enclosed, and dip the right size tip into it (there are full instructions) and then press the plastic tip to the tip of your nail. I have to confess that I strugged with getting my tips perfect so it clearly requires quite a bit of patience and practice – I found that there wasn’t a tip that perfectly fitted my nail and while the plastic is a bit flexible, so I was able to mould it a little, it never quite made a perfect size without the middle section going to high and missing off the centre of my nail. It might have been better to use a softer plastic I think.

If you’re good at nails already, then it’s a neat little thing – if not, you might struggle initially. The kit also comes with instructions so you can attempt an ombre nail – I’m nowhere near ready for this advanced class! French Tip Dip is HERE if you want a closer look.

  1. Such a good idea! I’m ok at painting my left hand, it all goes down hill when I paint my right! Great post! Thank you

I can’t get along with stencils for French Manicures, I prefer to do it freehand, but this does look like a handy kit!

Anything to make my nails easier goes down well with me. But then again the only way I’ll ever get my nails nice is by paying someone!
