Fragrance Roller Balls: The Future

I think its fair to say that nobody really wants to lug a full-size bottle of fragrance round with them all day to do a couple of refresher spritzes along the way. A full perfume bottle weighs a ton and my handbag for sure is full of all kinds of crap that doesn’t need adding to. So, while I’ve been browsing around the American department store websites (a really bad habit, I know), one thing has become apparent. American women aren’t expected to add to the carry around weight. I’ve spotted so many roller ball fragrances – see below – that with very few exceptions aren’t available in the UK. I know that Trish McEvoy does roller ball sizes in the UK – altogether much more tote-friendly and also of course, much more purse friendly. Buying a fragrance is quite a big financial commitment, and if you’re anything like me, you like to try lots of different scents without shelling out a fortune.  I’d be a whole lot happier if scents came in smaller sizes so it was easier to flit between scents without feeling beholden to finish that mahoosive 100ml you paid a small fortune for.

  1. The Sephora fragrance samplers look fantastic – we need something like that in the UK! The latest ones come with a rollerball to put your fragrance in to.

I end up buying mini vials from Ebay to carry around with me – it probably ends up loads more expensive per ml, but it’s better than carrying a whole bottle. Rollerballs would be great if they were available here!

Who can we petition to try to get these to be more widespread in the UK?! These would be ideal for me, I always end up buying the “smaller” size (30ml or what have you) so I can carry my perfume in my bag, but then it still takes up loads of room.

Just need to get Marc Jacobs to do these for his ranges now! What a great idea – no issue for airoplanes either

I owned the Stella McCartney rollerball perfume a long time ago but it leaked :S (something to bear in mind) At least my make-up bag and handbag smelled nice!

they sell Daisy in this format in the US 😀

  7. Boots have a Juicy Couture set of 3 out too for about £30 which isn’t too bad. Victoria’s Secret do some as well but you can only get them at various UK airports…but I definitely agree rollerballs are the future of handbag perfumes!

  8. From Boxing Day The Fragrance Shop will be selling Thierry Mugler perfumes in mini (10ml or 15ml) botles.

For those fragrances that don’t have smaller versions, you could always use an atomizer – we recommend “Travalo” just because you don’t have to use messy funnels like the old-style atomizers, you just pump your perfume straight into it.

Hope that helps a bit 🙂
