Estee Lauder Pure Color Wild Violet Collection

Pure Color Lip Gelees and Pure Color Long Lasting Lipsticks for Spring 2011

Wild Violet Palette, Untamed Violet Eye Shadow, Sugar Cube Eye Shadow, Wild Storm Nail Polish and Untamed Violet Eye Pencil

Following hot on the heels of Metamorphosis is Wild Violet – the palette is a collection of neutrals with a purple kicker. It launches exclusively in Selfridges on 3rd Jan, but nationwide in February. There are several stand outs in the collection including the palette which is so wearable, most notably a fragrance, Wild Elixir, that accompanies the range. This is a new concept – a fragrance to flatter the colours, but it kinda works because the scent is a true fresh floral with woody bottom notes that does make it very spring like. I can see you’d be in the mood for new scent and new make up shades come spring. The first Gelee formula glosses from EL appear in this collection: popping colours that are very sheer washes to leave lips understated but ultra-glossy (pick the lipsticks if you want full impact colour). Pick from Electic Cherry, Electic Violet, Electric Pink and Electric Coral – all quite daring for Lauder (which can be a little staid at times). If you can’t splash out on the palette, look out for the single shadow in Untamed Violet and the Double Wear Stay In Place Pencil of the same name to add in a plush purple twist to whatever you’re wearing.

  1. The other palette is so much prettier, why make that one the HN exclusive?? This one’s boring…

LOL, I have the most predictable eyeshadow tastes ever, but I think this palette looks gorgeous. Must have a look at it in January.

    Another exclusive?

    Boo to you Estee Lauder.

yes I see I misread this. Sorry EL!

Although it’s still a boo for the Metamorphosis one!

  5. Loving the look of this palette! Reminds me of one of the Guerlain palettes from earlier this year, except at a potentially reasonable price. I loved the Guerlain packaging but wasn’t willing to shell out $84 for a product most people described as chalky 🙁

    Good work, makeup scout!
