Essence I Need A Miracle! Tinting Mascara

Essence I Need A Miracle Tinting Mascara

I know it shouldn’t matter, but when I used to occasionally dye my lashes and when I had lash extensions, one of the things that I really liked about both was waking up with darker lashes. If you’re naturally blessed with dark, long lashes then that’s you every day (lucky you!) but my natural lashes are just boringly medium length and mid brown. There’s just something more ‘awake’ about framed eyes.

It makes perfect sense that while you’re wearing your mascara, it gives lashes a little tint, so that when it comes off you don’t immediately look exhausted! I like this Essence mascara for doing that as well as being a very decent budget product that punches above its weight in terms of performance. It didn’t give me massive volume but definitely an improved, inky black lash fringe. It’s a conditioning formula (but most modern mascaras are) and very nicely priced at £3.50. You’ll find it at Wilko stores in the next couple of weeks.

Just an FYI on this one – I bought it last night here in Dublin so it has been released over here if any of your other readers want to see if its now released in the UK or wider world.

Thank you Jane for this recommendation! I bought the mascara right away (€3.00 here in Germany) and it has kicked others out of rotation. It coats nicely and cleanly but the main effect aren’t the longer/thicker/darker lashes – it’s the effect on iris colour and the whites of the eye: somehow the iris colour intensifies, the contrasts are more defined, the whites clearer. Relatively easy to remove, and after a week of daily use my naked lashes really are darker. I will stock up on these!
