a-england Nail Polish

Loving a-england, the indi nail brand conceived by Adina Bondana who has a fashion background that includes working with Gianni Versace. The collection is based around Arthurian legend, so the names are all in keeping. Lady of The Lake is a lush mauve, Galahad is spot-on teal and Tristam is a not-quite navy blue. Lovely.

I’m wearing Percival which is a muted metallic ruby red with winey undertones. The polish dries to a low shine, which I really liked; it makes red more wearable by taking the pzazz out of it. That said, I couldn’t resist adding Lumos Top Coat to see what it looks like with the shine. To be honest, I should’ve left it alone!

Percival without glossy topcoat (and yes, I smudged it a little bit)

I love that on the site, there is a glossary of names that explains who everyone is and the background to the inspiration. I can’t say I’m as up as maybe I should be on my legends so it was interesting to me to see where everyone fits.

a-england has a great concept, I love that it is independent and that it’s full of personality without the big guns behind it. I hope to see a lot more from this range that has just the right mix of traditional and trend colours. Polishes are £9.50 each from a-england.co.uk
