The packaging geek in me adores these ‘red door’ inspired lipsticks. They look like they might be harsh in the hand but curved edges ensure that’s not the case while keeping the lines of the door.
I have a few shades to swatch, but I love that the bullets even have the door emblem on them, too. There are twenty-four shades in the new line-up so there’s pretty much something for everyone, and a claim that they’ll increase lip volume by 15% and firmness by 13%. Hard to tell, I think, whether your lips look 13% firmer!
Above, the shades are: Power Red, Red To Wear, Tropicoral, Mandarin and Iced Grape.
What I can definitely say though is that they keep their colour – I haven’t used it myself yet but have seen the results of the wear on someone else and it’s pretty impressive. While the initial lustre was gone, colour was still very evident after several hours with no top-ups. They feel creamy in swatching and give a beautiful initial sheen, but to keep the sheen, topping up is essential. I’d be tempted to put a balm over the top rather than endless re-supplies of lipstick to put the lustre back because the colour will stick around.
