Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Sheer Tint

I’ve just had a reminder of how good the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Tints are – I got this one in the post the day before yesterday and have worn it ever since. I’ve been in the sun and while my lips aren’t flakey, they certainly could do with a bit of a perk up. I really like the Blush shade (seen above) that just leaves a veil of dewy pink on the lips and it stays! I think lip balms often cause dry lips, especially flavoured ones, because we then just spend all our time licking them off and making the dry lip situation even worse. But the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Tints aren’t flavoured and feel more of a melty balm than a waxy one.

Here’s the swatch of Blush, although the tint comes in several other shades as well, and you can see it’s a me-but-better shade that just enhances rather than colours. Obviously, at £20, you’re going to want it to do more than most balms, and it kind of does – it’s certainly got a luxury feel and none of the heaviness you get with cheap and cheerful balms and it’s a bit more glossy than most so it looks like you’ve a slick of sheer tint on your lips. It’s charged with Vitamin E and feels very hydrating, plus it has SPF15 so things don’t get worse as the weather gets better.

I included the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Protectant Stick in the BBB Box 2 because of all of the above, but I hadn’t used the tinted version for a while.. I’m so glad that I’ve rediscovered them! You can find them HERE.

  1. I just bought a really terrible lipstick that dries my lips from the moment I put it on, it took ages to get the shade right, grrr. so I will be following your recommendation and take myself off to EA forthwith.

You might want to try wearing the Elizabeth Arden underneath your new lipstick – it will offer some barrier against the drying ingredients. x

  2. Great post, very informative and useful. I love 🙂

  3. Hi Jane, any chance you could review some natural, non-petroleum based lipsticks & balms? I’m trying to move away from mainstream chemical based make up, particularly lip products so would appreciate any tips from you! many thanks!

I’ll certainly try – do you have any in particular that you’re interested in? It might be that I’ve already blogged them a while back so just let me know and I’ll see what I can do x

I’ve read a lot of favourable comments about Lippy Girl so would love to know what you think? Or any others you’ve tried which are fab….! Thanks Jane!

I’ve used this for the last few years, I leave it in my holiday bag for when I’m travelling. Started with the blush but now Love the middle one and it looks great with a bit of a suntan.

    Thanks Jane, love the blog!
