[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Elf loves a foodie themed collection – anyone remember last year’s Mint Melt? Green lipgloss and everything minty fresh? We are along the same lines with the Cookies ‘N Dreams Collection and if you like the idea of cookie flavoured beauty, it’s all of the fun.

I would always recommend Elf glosses – they’re sheer, lightful and priced very nicely at £4 each with several variations such as the Plumping Gloss in pastel sheer hues and Retro Paradise with a cocktail theme. Strangely, they’re yet to do a red collection and I’d like to see that – red the colour that needs gloss varieties the most.

Above is Brain Freeze that gives a very slight blue wash, Cream Come True which gives a milky wash and Cookie Dreams which, you guessed it, gives a slightly grey wash to the lips. Of the three, my pick would be Cookie Dreams because a grey glisten over a matte red lip is something to behold – you can also use it over nudes and pinks to give them a bit more of an edge. There’s a little bit of shimmer to Brain Freeze and Cookie dreams but it’s been given a light hand.

I’m also a fan of the No Budge stick eyeshadows (£5 HERE). Above, you see Chill Zone, Sweet Cream and Cookie Lover. Chill and Sweet are pastel mattes, while Cookie Lover and Midnight Milkshake (main picture) have a bit of shimmer in the form of sparkles.

In the swatch from top to bottom are: Brain Freeze, Cream Come True and Cookie Dreams, followed by Sweet Cream, Chill Zone, Cookie Lover and Midnight Milkshake. I’d grab Midnight Milkshake or Cookie Lover to use as a top lid liner – give it a bit of smudge and you have an instant smoky look. They’re £4 HERE.

There’s an 8 pan palette with a mix of matte, shimmer and metallic – funnily enough I was looking for some blue eyeshadow for my Mum over Christmas and didn’t think of Elf so I’m going to get the little Bite-Sized Palette in Acai (£4) and hope for the best. I should say that the bag/pencil case is something I had already – it’s not part of the collection. The palette swatches up pretty well – there’s a little bit of drop so watch out for that, but it’s mainly on the mattes rather than the metallics.

Here it is, all swatched up – the palette is £9 HERE.

Here’s Cookie Crumble, a lip exfoliator stick and probably the most flavoured thing from the collection. I’m not personally a fan of flavoured lip products but lots of people are so you’ll get your full cookie experience here. The balm contains sugar which gives the scrub element in a base of jojoba, shea, avocado and grapeseed oils. It’s £5 HERE.

The last thing to mention (there are lots of other items, but it’s the final one for this post) is the Cookies N Dreams Putty Primer. Putty Primer (£9 HERE) has been a best selling product for Elf for its ability to give a smoothed base on which to apply make up – it’s got a blurring element and in this case, a cookie scent. I’m imagining my whole face smelling of biscuits and having a few questions to be honest, but each to their own! The biggest thing I love about this product is the tin. I’m thinking that if you gift around Easter, this collection is the perfect chocolate alternative (or addition). It’s only on the Elf website at the moment but will launch into Superdrug in February if you’d rather put eyes on it before buying.
