Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Spring 2015

Here’s hoping that you love everything bright, because with one or two beautiful exceptions, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Spring 2015 is all about the wow-brights. I’m very tempted to get that yellow on my nails right now, but given that the background colour of my hands is blue because it’s so cold, I’m not so sure!

Starting off with the nail polishes, these are all new shades in the new bottles. Pink is Bouganville, blue is Blue Angel, green is Grass and yellow is Sole. The new formulation for D&G is thick without being gloopy and very, very shiny. I love this colour infusion.

Now, I do love a challenging palette, but I just don’t have a clue how to tackle this one! It’s not called Colour Explosion for no good reason. I’d really need to see some looks done with this one I think before attempting anything on my own eyes. I know that we are used to well pigmented products, but Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Spring 2015 palettes really are a step up from every day palettes. The pigment is smooth, deep and very impressive.

This is honestly just one sweep of the sponge applicator to get that amount of colour (although I am reminded of the German flag!).

When I opened this, I was a bit, oh no, not another nude palette, but the pay-off is so good that I’m instantly in love with it. Tender looks a little shy in the pan, but in swatching it’s quite different.

The first two shades have some sheen, while the other two are matte.

Needless to say, you will only need a whisper of Raspberry blush – it’s absolutely beautiful and gives that rush of spring flush to the cheeks.

See what I mean! I’m thinking this would also be beautiful on the eye. I’m definitely going to wear this – but I think I might wait til I have a little bit of tan – if you are cool toned, you won’t need to wait, but this is a colour that won’t do anything for sallow until it turns warmer in tone.

Finally, the lips. I’ve got to admit, I don’t really get these bleached nude shades for lips – little bit corpsy for my liking. The lighter shade lipstick is called Sugar Pink although there really isn’t any pink in it – more of a frosty golden wash, but the brighter shade is Bouganville and that’s got pigment aplenty!

The obvious pick for me is the Intense Colour Gloss in Bouganville. I don’t even have enough words to say how much I love this!

The Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Spring 2015 collection makes me think of heat – of beaches and searing sun. I’d give anything right now to be in a cafe in Positano on the Amalfi coast, sipping a coffee and rocking that gloss!

The collection has already launched on an exclusive to Harrods HERE. It’s incredibly expensive – the gloss is £31! But, if you’re ready for a splash out, I think it’s a fabulous collection – the best yet from D&G.

Ha, yes, I immediately thought of our flag too (I am German). Looks pretty much like the cheap face paint sets you can buy whenever there’s some world championship going on 😀
Although I am sure the quality here is MUCH higher! Still, I think that palette is so challenging, it might just be impossible to pull off.

  2. I actually love the nude palette! In the pan it looks boring, but on the skin it’s lovely!

Hi. The lipgloss is actually now £21 on Harrods’ website.

I love your blog – thank you for all your hard work. Did you know that about 20% of the time the wrong photos appear on your homepage? I use an iPad if that makes a difference – it might not happen on a computer. It’s been happening for a few months, and I thought you should know (although you probably already do!). xx

Thanks so much Sarah – that’s really kind of you. Actually, I have seen the picture thing.. I don’t know why it happens but I will definitely look into it. xx
