The reason for spending the weekend in Milan was to attend a Masterclass with Pat McGrath; Creative advisor for Dolce Gabbana make-up. It took place at the D&G boutique a few hours before the runway show at The Metropol – the D&G owned space where all their shows take place.

Pat created a face to showcase the Passioneyes mascara, just launching into Harrods now. Passioneyes mascara lifts and curls and comes in three shades – black, brown and blue. This was reflected on the catwalk with models wearing a wide-eyed, defined mascara look with pink lips and fresh flushed cheeks over a creamy base.

Pat’s theory with make-up is to have fun – to be free with it and one of her tips is to use lipstick on the eye for a glossy shadow look – this will make more sense when I can show you the Christmas collection in a couple of week’s time. She had a great tip for the bright lip shy like me – ombré! I’d never considered that as a way to dilute strong colours before.

We were quite high up on the balcony for the show so I snapped the models leaving the show in their own clothes but the show make up so you can see it better. We loved watching all their handsome boyfriends on mopeds waiting to whisk them away!

I’ll be uploading lots more pictures to Instagram (britbeautyblog) tonight.
