Dior Christmas collection is always something to look forward to – there’s usually a strong element of gold and this year is no exception. Dior does golden nuance like no other, so there are richer elements in the nail polish for example, and then white gold elements in the Dior Show Fusion Mono, Blazing.
Actually, this is my favourite item from the selection I have here – the shimmer on it is unbelievable; no glittery chunks, just a gorgeous white-gold wash of gleam. Shimmer is notoriously hard to capture on camera so please take my word!
The other item from the collection that’s really caught my attention is Dior Addict in Cult, above. It’s that same blackened wine shade that you’ll see everywhere this season, but this is ultra glossy and a very comfortable wear.

I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before...
There are five new shades for nails…. the one I’m most excited for isn’t in my selection here at the moment. Instead, I have State of Gold and Passion. Passion has a slightly brickish element to the red and State of Gold is as you can see – a wash of shimmering gold particles. The polish to really look out for though is Gris Or, a mercurial colour that changes with the light with elements of amber, pink gold and platinum.
Both the lipsticks that I have here are in the Diorific Mat collection, which is new; there are six shades and I have Troublant (the wine shade) and Fabuleuse. Both great names!
And, here’s the swatch.
I’m finding it nearly impossible to get a true colour representation of the Dior 5 Couleurs Palette, State of Gold. Somehow, it looks better and more accurate on Instagram (@britbeautyblog). It looks like rather a cold palette, but it’s warm with gold, aubergine, silver and a grey-green.
I love the aubergine shade… I know I’ll be wearing that a lot myself. I know there are mixed views on the quality of Dior shadows but personally, I find them ok; there is a little bit of drop but nothing more than any other shadows that I can think of. In fact, I’d say that the quality of Mono Fusion out-does Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in terms of smoothness of application.
The Dior State Of Gold Christmas 2015 collection launches in November.
