Dior Spring 2013: Cherie Bow Swatches

The Dior Cherie Bow Palette more than lives up to expectations.. the lid looks almost ceramic and it’s nicely heavy and expensive feeling!
Inside, the colours are very wearable..

Now, I handled this palette with kid gloves BUT…

as I closed it, I caught it with my nail. Damn it. I haven’t swatched these shades yet..totally not ready. However, everything else I have sample wise I have swatched.

Other than the palette, the Twin Set Eyeshadows are my big love from this collection. The crayon element is quite chunky but gives a good, thick line or all over colour; the powder end of the stick is less intense (it has a little bit of drop so take care).

Above in both pictures is Fishnet Black; the powder end has a slight shimmer and is buildable.

This is my favourite Twin Set; Ballerina Pink.

Above is Grey Sigh.

Above is the Color Reviver Gloss.. it’s quite interesting because although, yes, it does work on the body heat element, it seems to be a more sophisticated formula than most. It just ‘enhances’ the lip with colour – I guess you could say it emphasises a natural look with a skew to pink. On my lips it looked a kind of beigey pink, rather than with some of the body-heat products that can go very vivid and weird.

The lower swatch is how it goes onto the lip straight away, the second (above) is how it reacts to the heat. There’s a good level of gloss and it does stain the lip so you don’t need to keep reapplying.

Diorskin Nude Rose Powder is a super-fine, make-up setting powder.. it’s just gorgeous if you love powder.

Plus, it comes with a dinky little puff although I would apply this very finely with a kabuki brush.

Finally, a close up of the Cherie Bow 5 Couleurs Palette.. I love the silver accenting to rev up the delicate pinks.

The Twin Set eyeshadows seem interesting too… are they a limited edition item or are/will they be available permanently?

  5. umm, I’m not feeling this collection. Pale pink and silver is a tough mix for my warm skin tone. Well, probably also because I never like girly pinks. Thanks for the lovely pictures and swatches! xx

  6. So cute. I also love how the lip gloss has a cover so the powders don’t get gunky on it.

  7. Charlie

I would love the pink powder and the 5 Coleurs… so pretty.

I’m kind of surprised at how little I like this collection. I love pale pink and silver together, but the palette itself is just meh. It actually looks a bit tacky, but not in a fun Hello Kitty type way. I don’t know why, but this collection doesn’t say Dior to me.

  9. Pretty Little Passport

The casing is just stunning…but I would be a little worried that it would weigh down my luggage, it looks heavy!!

  10. Pink is my go to eyeshadow colour, I must have that Ballerina twinset!
