Thirty two shades of this dreamy new lipstick launch on 27th September. I’m totally a Dior fan but event despite that, the formulas are beautiful – rich and creamy on the lip. Above are Greige 147, a warm nude, Trafalgar, an orange toned red and Darling, a mid-pink.
I’m not one to fall for press-release-speak, but the claim that they make your lips look smoother is true – they’re as flattering on the lip as any gloss – thanks, apparently, to rock samphire as an ingredient. They will cost £26 each. Yikes.
So, now the nails. These are again, vibrant and bright, and Dior polish is always ultra-glossy, but the twist with this quad is that they’re based on Dior patent shoes. The dark blackberry shade, Nuit 1947, references Carmine Pump, the deep red, Rouge 999 references Burgundy Pump, shocking pink Darling references Crimson Pump and Trafalgar in orange-red references Fuschia Pump – and if you think they don’t sound like exact matches, you’d be right. They’re a harmonious discord if you like so nobody falls into the matchy-matchy fashion trap with their shoes and nails.
This theory relies on you having a wardrobe full of Dior shoes and since I have never even had my little toe in a Dior pump I’ll just go with it because it’s *fashON* darling ;-). Anyway, I can’t see that it maters whether you have shoes to mis-match with – it’s all about the nails in my book!
Again, 27th September launch – I’ll get them on my nails as soon as I can for swatches and they’ll cost £18.
