Dior Pore Minimizer

So, 2014 looks like the year of the pore minimizer – there are so many heading to market in different forms – Maybelline, Benefit and Dior have all put their eggs in the pore basket and so far, they’re all proving how well this type of product has moved forward in terms of texture and efficiency.

Dior Pore Minimizer is a dream – it totally works; the area that I have most open pores is on my nose, like most people, and a swift application of Dior Pore Minimizer more or less eradicated the look of them. If I compare it to Maybelline Baby Skin, I’d say it is better in terms of coverage, but what I found with Dior’s version is that it is not as compatible with foundation as Maybelline. I think you’d have to use it over foundation or under a powder to avoid those little rolls. Probably where this product is going to come in to its own is those no-make up days where you just want your skin to look perfected rather than covered. Unfairly, maybe, I didn’t try it with Dior foundation so it could be that it’s totally compatible with that.

I don’t have all the details on this product but I think it will launch at the same time as the Dior Spring Collection in January. My advice would be to try Baby Skin first and if you love that and just want to go up a level brand-wise, head for Dior.

  1. I’d love to try this – Dior is one of my favourite brands and for a product like this I don’t mind paying a little extra as long as it works! Xx

Hmmm, I think it’s probably not working with your foundation due to incompatibility of ingredients used in it. A lot of thoses Pore Minimizer use silicones and if your foundation is water based or wax based, it may not work at all…simple basic chemistry, unfortunately most people don’t know this and they use products that cancels/worsen each other out…it ends up in a lot of wasted money.

It’s surprising that that issue hasn’t been overcome yet.. I was wearing a Lauder foundation so maybe it was just incompatible.

  3. Would love to try this, I have always been very impressed with Dior’s foundations!
