I’ve got to admit to being a little bit disappointed with the Deborah Lippmann New York Marquee collection for autumn. Maybe I don’t have the most exciting colours from the six strong collection, but they seem a little dated to me. It’s a chrome finish, but I don’t think these shades are really over and above any basic metallics. ‘Luxe Chrome’ doesn’t look any different to me than any other chrome finish. It’s the first time I haven’t been head over heels for a Lippmann range, but it’s personal taste, I am sure – only a couple of days ago I was dying for the Dancing In The Nude collection!

The two shades I have here for swatching are I’ll Take Manhattan in teal and Lullaby of Broadway in a blush taupe shade. However, it’s worth looking at 12th Street Rag – a bright magenta and Harlem Nocturne, a deep indigo shade for stand-outs. They’ve already launched on the Deborah Lippmann site in the US so you can see the full Deborah Lippmann New York Marquee collection HERE, but otherwise, they’re £18 each and launch in the UK in August.

I couldn’t get into the nude collection at all, but these look really nice to me.
No, it isn’t just you. Even before I read the article I thought ‘dated’! And the finish doesn’t even look good on the nail wheel so God knows how it would turn out on a not so perfect nail surface… Lullaby of Broadway reminds me a bit of that Rimmel shade Grape Sorbet which has stayed since forever because the older lady still likes it (and not in a sophisicated Beauty + way!)
The pink one reminds me a bit of Chanel Rose Moiré, I love the blue one though. In fact I love them both ^^.
