Oh hello, Daniel Sandler! Best known for his gorgeous make up range, Daniel Sandler is branching out into the heady world of home fragrancing in a collaboration with Jonathan Ward. The result is IN LOVE – a beautiful candle, fat with Daniel’s favourite notes of sandalwood, vanilla, light musk, patchouli and amber. It’s a truly beautiful perfume; I loved it instantly and despite the weighty sounding ingredients, it has a slightly masculine edge thanks to black pepper, cardamom and clove, and is finally lifted with white floral notes.
I like to allocate my candle fragrances by room; right now I have Jonathan Ward Kiss In Rio in my sitting room and a pretty, light freesia scent by Geodesis in my bedroom. But, IN LOVE seems to suit every room – it is a truly all encompassing aroma. The timing for launch is right as well – it debuts on www.escentual.com in October – because there is something very embracing about the olfactory tone that seems perfect for hunkering down for the winter.
The packaging is great – hallmarks of Jonathan Ward but with a very Daniel twist on the inside in the form of black, white and red lettering.
