Nicola Roberts’ range, Dainty Doll, started life using colour palettes for fair skin tones. Nicola has that almost transluscent skin tone that is beautiful to look at but nigh on impossible to find a foundation for!
The brand has diversified slightly; still catering for hard-to-match pale tones when it comes to bases, but has introduced brighter shades for eyes and lips that are good for all tones. In fact, I think we’ve become more adventurous; pale skin tones have always been able to wear bright shades but I think were told so often they couldn’t, it became a silly beauty myth that they had to stick to certain shades. Of course, with any tone, you have to pick and choose carefully, but now that the internet has opened up a billion and one tutorials for every single skin tone and colourway that exists in the world, there’s always a way to look amazing.
This collection is young, fresh and vibrant; personally, I love the lipsticks – they’re the most beautiful nude shades with a little kick of something more. So, here’s a selection of the Summer collection that launches in June.

I am as pale as a sheet and I used to think I could only wear neutral tones, and pale pink lips but I have become more adventurous – I love rocking a bright statement lip now! I think brights on pales looks so stunning 🙂 kudos for the collection for branching out! xxx
Did I hear nude lipsticks? And the creme blushes look divine especially Orange County Girl!
This brand sounds interesting, have never heard of it before. I’m sooo pale and I think these products look very nice 😀
Awh, pretty products. I really must check Dainty Doll out. So many fake tan disasters that it starting to get a bit old. Maybe it is time to enhance what I’ve got instead of faking (and miserably failing)it.
I am pale, but I have always loved and worn bright colors. Light-colored makeup seems to just wash me out. I love the look of these Nicola products, especially the Storm in a D Cup lipstick!
I’ve heard of Dainty Doll before and really want to try it out, but they don’t have it in my local Boots 🙁
Thanks for the review!
I’ve heard of the brand, but haven’t tried it (yet). Am pale myself but don’t usually wear real bright colours – I should give it a go 🙂
Totally loving the nude lipsticks and blushes here..would love to try them!
