[unpaid/experiencereview] So, here we are – ready to meet La Bene Rosso and Jane’s Best Pink. If you like the look of them you can ask for them by name.

So, standing up is my dupe of Revlon’s Beaming Strawberry, and it’s called Jane’s Best Pink.

You can see that it’s got all the creamy, milky quality of Strawberry. I should say that it’s not an exact match – so very nearly, but as you’ll see in the swatches, just short. However, I think this version suits me better. It’s in the balm formula so incredibly soft on the lips and because it’s not a high shine balm, a much better stayer.

La Bene Rosso

And this is the Gucci Rene Pink dupe, La Bene Rosso. It’s almost spot on – I think a lot of the difference comes from the fact that the shine is different – both my chosen lipsticks to copy are incredibly high shine and these are slightly more muted in the finish. I am not complaining!

On the very bottom is Gucci Rene Pink, above it is La Bene Rosso. Revlon Beaming Strawberry is next, followed by Jane’s Best Pink. If you missed the original experience post with @this_is_fifty and myself choosing our lipsticks, it’s HERE. To order either of these, or G’s Summer Red, they’re £68 each which probably makes them cost prohibitive in that respect – but the experience itself is £80 which includes a lipstick so if you’re in London or visiting, that’s the better (more fun) option and you can find details HERE.

Rather close! But somehow I think that that Revlon Ice&Fire is still better match to Rene. Still wonder why in the department store they can scan color and mix the big can of paint to be exact match and here (for the price higher than your average lux lippie) you still get different result (my monitor may be wrong, but I see that La Bene Rosso is not just less shiny – it is lighter as well and the Perfect Pink is way more cool/blue than original)

It’s tricky in the lighting – the pink is slightly more blue but once on the lips with the natural lip colour, it’s more close. Actually, it looks better on Instagram. Once you’ve taken it through the editing process and then from camera to phone to laptop, it’s hard to hold on to exact tones and I think maybe I haven’t done my best here. They’re not 100% but so close.

They both look faaaabuuulous Jane! Is the formula comfortable and moisturising? And your skin looks amazing too. What makeup and potions are you wearing?
I am now going to see if I can find a dupe / replacement for my beloved EL Rose Petal which has been long discontinued. Maybe this is the answer! Xx

Thank you! It’s really comfortable – hmmm, what was I wearing this morning.. I’m now wearing completely different things but I think it’s mainly e.l.f. – Halo Glow, new Halo Glow blush (coming up soon on here), elf Lash n Roll and Dcypher foundation. x

Brilliant, thank you Jane. e.l.f. have seriously knocked things out of the makeup park recently x
