Okay, so this is pretty much what the nail consumer has been waiting for – a new weekly polish system that doesn’t need a base coat, dries to a gel finish without UV lights and you can do it at home, yourself. Gels without the hassle or the salon appointment and bottom line.. more or less an at-home Shellac. This year is the year of the game-changers in beauty, it seems.

The top coat is the crucial bit it seems (I haven’t tried this myself yet, but cannot wait!) as it gets more durable when exposed to natural light, so no chipping or scratching for a week. It takes about 8.5 minutes to dry. Most importantly, it comes off with normal acetone based polish remover and won’t stain the nails. There are 62 shades to choose from which is an impressive start. I love doing my own nails – I can change them every day some weeks, but other weeks there is no time so this just sounds like a busy girl’s dream.
This doesn’t launch til 30th April, but I’ll put all the facts about where to find it in a post when I’ve tested it.

I was about to be all sceptical…but actually this sounds amazing. It was the colour choices that won me over. Surprised to hear CND would release a range aimed at the DIY market though, very surprised!
I’m going to need to see it in action, but in theory sounds like a dream even for a nail tech.
it is a pro products for pro’s to use and to retail to their clients. it will be available to the public, but only through CND salons.
you will ADORE this bbb!
really excited to try it!
How wonderful! I love my shellacs but my nails are knackered from over doing it, maybe this could be my saviour!
Its going to take the world by storm!!
Need!
Hi Jane. I’m loving the colour range in Vinylux, and the fact that it comes in the most popular Shellac shades too. A few statements need to be corrected though as Vinylux is not a gel/hybrid, it is made to last up to a week whereas Shellac up to two. Also they have a very different finish and yes, top coat is essential!
Nicki, Shellac should be doing no damage to your nails, are you sure the technician is doing the prep right and the products are all CND? Also if you have a problem with weak/brittle nails keep ak eye out for CND’s new Brisa Lite Smoothing system!
