[affiliate/sample] You probably heard my scream of anguish long before you read this post! I’m so cross with myself I can’t tell you. If you’re of a sensitive beauty disposition, look away now!
This gorgeous little chap is celebrating The Year Of The Rat in the Chinese calendar – I wondered in previous posts how brands were going to make rats lovely and yet, here he is, proving anything is possible.
Just as I was folding up clear tape to ensure the pop stays upright for a nice photo, I dinged it with the tape holder and knocked out a portion of the highlighter. I know… I cursed so hard at my clumsiness. Then, in an attempt to slide the missing bit (s) back in, I caught the top of the ear with my nail. Arghhh. The only upside is that I didn’t really want to swatch it because it was so perfect but obviously, not so much now.
The shade is a light but warm gold – it’s the sweetest thing and if you remember the cheek pops originally the flower decoration that was used is the same to surround the rat. The colour burnishes up with brushing to a high cheek sheen that catches the light so nicely.
It’s an easy wear, especially if you’re a bit shy of highlighting a la Instagram – the colour blends so easily that you can take it to whatever level you like. I sometimes use highlighter over creme blush and if you just whisper your brush over it you get a very subtle glow effect that just ups the lighting on your face. At £18 I think it’s a great buy whether you celebrate Chinese New Year or not. It’s HERE, non affiliate HERE.
