Clinique Autumn Make Up 2010: Bigger, Brighter Eyes In An Instant

Ok well, the Clinique autumn range makes a bit more sense now I have been to the press day – a gorgeous white room decorated with individual paintings by the very talented Nuno Da Costa (see pics above). Basically, it uses quite a lot of existing products but gives them va-va-voom with new limited edition ultra pigment Quickliners to ‘brighten’ the eyes. On the one hand, it’s disappointing that so little of the range is new, but on the other hand, for those who already have Clinique colours the liners really do rev things up. They are super-soft and creamy and come in colours Intense Black, Intense Plum, Intense Chocolate and Intense Coffee – in fact the Intense Coffee was my favourite because it is a kind of ‘deadened’ mink brown thats heavy and very defining – quite dramatic in quite a different way. They’re £13 each. The other newbies are some Vitamin C Lip Smoothies in berry shades and a brightening (i.e. more heavily pigmented and intense) mascara. The addition of the Quickliners splits the collection into a series of looks: Like Mink, Starlit Pink, Beach Plum and Blackberry Frost, and everything goes on counter on 1st August. I saw the looks on the PR girls – they all wore a different look – and they’re very, very pretty – without rocking the world, quite.

Wow those paintings are beautiful! I’d love to draw like that!
The collection seems OK, I love seeing new products, but maybe it’s better for our wallets…
