Okay, so I now have the Clarins Palette… from the official pictures, it looked very purple based but now I have it in my hand, I can confirm that it is very much neutral and brown based.
It’s a beautiful looking palette.. remember the recyclable packaging bit? Well, you can kind of tell once you know, just from the feel and look of it that it has an eco slant.
I’m as surprised as anyone that it isn’t purple! They need to go back and make the purple one for next year given the positive response that it had. Sometimes though, pictures can do that.. skew the shades.. and there’s no real way to know whether it’s happened or not. I’ve done as many swatches in different lights so you can really see the shades.
I have to say, the quality is all there.. the shades are super-blendable and very soft with a lovely level of pay-off. There isn’t one single colour in this that I wouldn’t wear.. the whole lot would get used. So, if you can bear that it isn’t purple based, but warm neutrals, golds and browns then you’ll probably love it as much as I do. I can see it being indispensable.

I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before...
