Yaz Bukey is a noted costume jewellery designer.. she’s pretty out there with chunky perspex pieces that are more wearable art than jewels. However, her collaboration with Cire Trudon is pretty incredible. Not so much for the design, but the smell. It smells of new shoes. Or new handbags. It’s exactly that smell and it triggers a whole heap of happy sensations – I just straight away thought ‘shoes’! But the best shoes – leather and heels and patent and buckles – it’s somehow all, miraculously, contained in a smell. Incredible.
It’s at Colette in France (who have the world’s most unusable website so I’m not even linking) and I think coming here also.. I’ll keep you posted. If you pass a Cire Trudon display, do stop and smell it.
