Christmas In July Part 3

Well, I really was flagging today, I have to admit – not least because I got soaked to my skin twice in a one day! But I did see some fabulous things, and had my first mini-mince pie of the unseason. So, I started at Selfridges, whose theme this year is a White Christmas. One of the best things is that the Lancome Beauty Advent Calender is back – and there will be lots more in production this time and not so hard to get hold of this year. The picture I have here is a prototype and if you don’t want to see the contents, click away now.

There is also a nice box of Lancome crackers, all with a beauty treat inside and perfect for a girly Christmas do.

Selfridges have asked their brands to create something white especially and Dior have created this black and white duo – nice and sparkly.

I know it’s all about the beauty, but I couldn’t resist adding in these pics of the miniature shoes created in perfect tiny form. They’ll form part of a collection that will cost money I dare not even print on here.

And the Barbie Louboutin set? I’m all set to rummage out an old Barbie and get her red soled, although bitterness could set in if my doll has 9 pairs of Louboutins and I’m still to even get my first pair!

Finally, my favourite item of the show.. Steamcream’s poodle tin. Some readers will know I have two tiny poodles here at home and I absolutely adore them. They’re called Honey and Coco and we are all besotted with them so anything poodly and I’m smitten.

Your blog would be a lot more enjoyable if you blogged about relevant stuff for us public. Why are you posting about this in July?? I know Christmas events are happening now, but they are for industry not us. Sorry for the comment, but seriously, posting about Christmas in July is ridiculous.

Anon 1: this blog is about the accounts of beauty insider. It’s even written in the title. I appreciate you’re pissed off about hearing about Christmas and you haven’t had your Summer Holiday, I haven’t either. But lots of us love to sneak peeks of beauty things to come, and things to look forward to. It helps budgeting too and not go crazy in all things beauty you see around now, cos you might have seen something reaaaaaaaaally special worth saving for.

‘laaaaaast christmas, i gave you my heart…’

  7. This looks exciting- a lancome advent calendar and crackers.. 🙂

(The Louboutins- well I’m just about to sell mine but this is making me reconsider!) x

  8. Must have that advent calendar… Wanted one last year but they sold out. I wish they would do something similar in the us. I like poodles also and love that they Made louboutins for barbie! Hilarious. I do like the look of them but really can’t imagine paying so much for one pair! I doubt my husband would approve either. I agree that I enjoy hearing about Xmas in July- bc I make lists o products I want an then organize them by limited edition or not and that way I can decide which ones I need to buy now or which I can still get later.

I love this blog post. I am not a Christmas person myself but I do enjoy seeing all the holiday goodies that beauty companies sell for the Christmas season. You have a fun job getting to see all the behind the scenes things and attend creative events. Lucky!

Ooh, I have to have the poodle tin! I have one and I love him to bits, I can’t resist anything poodle themed!
I may also have to save up for the advent calender. Thanks for posting 🙂

The Lancome advent calendar was £60 last year, so I guess around a similar mark this year

  15. I saw this too…It’s £70 and comes out in October. It has the cutest lil YSL lipstick in there too!

Oh my goodness….Christian Louboutins for Barbie?!

Your Christmas in July series makes me look at Christmas with a beauty slant now…! I usu celebrate it with my fiance’s family in Sydney so my shopping is strictly for family and not for myself….getting ideas for my own Xmas present this year – lol!
