Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Lipsticks

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve got a lot of Charlotte Tilbury newness coming up – they’ve been busy bees! I’ll start with the Super Nudes Lipsticks. Super Nudes is a whole collection comprising eyes, lips and face but I’m kicking off with the lipsticks, most of which are in the Matte Revolution formula.

Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes

Nude or natural tones are any beauty brand’s biggest challenge because of the vast array of global skin tones. And, is there any such thing as the ‘perfect’ nude tone? I prefer something with a greyish or mauve undertone on myself which doesn’t necessarily correspond with my skin tone. The rules – if you want to take any notice of them – dictate that your skin tone defines your ideal shade. There are undertones to take into consideration too but quite frankly, once you’ve stared down the barrel of a beige lipstick trying to identify its exact undertone, days can pass. I think nudes or naturals are instinctive – you just sort of know which is ‘you’ and that instinct might not conform to any beauty convention. In many ways, it’s best to treat them like any other colour – you’re drawn or you’re not.

Ironically, I don’t feel there one in the new line-up that is exactly me based on preference but the one I’m most drawn to is second from the end (Super Fabulous). So, going from bottom to top: Runway Royalty, Catwalking, Cover Star, Super Fabulous and Supermodel. The only one not showing up on the site at the time of writing is Runway Royalty which is in the KISSING formula and looks like it’s ‘early access’ only so you’d have to sign up for emails or wait. They’re all £25 each HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

So much stuff/offers/bundles is appearing from Charlotte Tilbury at the moment that I’m fully expecting them to throw in the kitchen sink for good measure. Probably having to recoup the buyout costs!

      You’re probably right!

More nudes from Charlotte Tilbury. Quelle surprise! I feel like this is a brand that started out with a USP of lots of unique looks (unique from each other, not unique as in stand-out, unusual) and now does little else but the beige to bronze to brown spectrum. Obviously it’s very popular and all power to them but I struggle to see how they’ll stay relevant if the pendulum swings away from this look in future (if it ever will).

I guess that’s the category that sells really well for them so they just keeping on going… I agree – it would be nice to see a new red!

I’m the same as you Jane, I would give my right arm for a light, cool toned nude lipstick. Can’t get away with these caramel shades. Just keep having to settle for lip glosses to get the cool, milky tone I’m after.

Me too actually – there seem to be more glosses with that undertone than lipsticks.

Very warm warms is the trend that will not go away! I am not now nor have I ever been someone who could conceivably wear orange, red, red brown or any other similar shade on my face. Makeup is just in a weird place right now.

Jane, I’m really excited to order 19/99’s crayons at some point in the future. It was your review that brought them to my attention. They’re doing something a little bit different and I like that. (Now if only they would bring out a taupe-y, smudgy cool grey color…)

        I know – greige! That’s what we need 🙂

One of my favourite YouTubers, Hannah Louise Poston (articulate, deeply reflective, slightly eccentric and totally adorable) did a video about a company called Finding Ferdinand which makes custom designed lipsticks – you choose the shade, the finish, you name it etc…sounds brilliant for anybody struggling to find something very specific. Not sure if they would ship to UK but might be worth a look? (As is HLP’s YouTube channel in my opinion)
          All the best, Jo 🙂

Thanks for this Jo – off to Google now 🙂

  4. I like the swatches of the top and bottom shades, they’re the ones I could probably get away with wearing without looking like I’ve got foundation lips!

Yes I agree – some people can really wear those pale beiges but I’m not one of them either 😉
