[samples/affiliate] I’m in my happy place testing lip glosses and already a fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Baths so the fact that there is a new shade in that formula is music to my ears.

So, in the line up above, first is Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk 2, Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk, Lip Lustre in Pillow Talk and Kissing formula Pillow Talk 2. Pillow Talk now has its own pink exterior packaging that marks it as a brand within a brand. Pillow Talk 2 is a deeper version of the original Pillow Talk (always a tad light for me) and I guess you’d say it’s like a rose-hit toffee shade.

The Collagen Lip Bath wand has a kind of a trough section to deliver the gloss – I’m not sure it makes any difference really but it’s quite a nice way to apply with something different. It’s very sheer with a kick of mint for plumping but also feels very lip conditioning. My favourite CT product, I think. The Lip Lustre has more pigment to it (with a vanilla scent) and has enough grip that you aren’t constantly reapplying as well as giving a beautiful light to the lips. It’s not a colour I’d wear as a lipstick but with the radiance of gloss it’s lifted somewhat and is in fact a very easy, neutral look.

The two lipsticks are both in the Pillow Talk 2 version so they’re deeper in tone and not so ‘english rose’ suited (I always think of Rosie H-W). The new shade encompasses more tonal variance I think – and again, an easy wear without slipping into boring in either sheen or matte. As pared down make-up looks are becoming more popular, I see why the brand has embraced it with more shades of Pillow Talk. Charlotte Tilbury can be a bit too powerful colour-wise for some – the full on Hollywood glam look just isn’t for everyone so I think we can expect to see more variants of Pillow Talk as the more modern sister to the rest of the range.

I’m just adding in the new Pillow Talk Blush which has gone several shades deeper but still with the glowy central core. This shade is better for deeper and warmer tones – I found the original a bit insipid to be honest but this has more body and boldness to it. It’s almost ‘bronzer’ deep so this might be one for the summer months to bring warmth and contour (if anyone is still doing that) to the face.

It’s only when you swatch everything together that you see the variance in the same family. I’m still with the original shade Collegen Lip Bath as my favourite from Pillow Talk followed by Lip Lustre. The first swatch is Pillow Talk 2 Matte Revolution and the blush is last with Pillow Talk 2 Kissing formula.
