Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks

I know I’ve featured the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks a while back when I first saw them, but I only had a couple of swatches back then and this lot just arrived so I thought I’d give them a proper outing.

I have to say, these are precision built lipsticks – no rounded nubby ends on these, they’re practically chiselled to a finish! The presentation makes you think they’re going to be hard, but actually on the lip, they’re butter soft and pliable. In terms of lip comfort, bearing in mind that they’re matte, I’m wearing one of the shades and there isn’t any dry feeling going on at all.. in fact, if I was doing a blindfold test, I’d say they were sheens from the texture.

Also from the look of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks, you think you’re going to get a whack of pigment. In the brighter colours you do, such as the first red, but there are other, much more wearable and subtle shades that won’t take you over the comfort zone threshold. So on the swatches, the shades from bottom to top are: Red Carpet Red, Lost Cherry, Bond Girl, Walk of Shame, Birkin Brown, Amazing Grace, Sexy Sienna, Very Victoria, Love Liberty and Glaston-berry. If you’re looking at the box picture, I’ve gone clockwise all the way around the box starting with Red Carpet Red.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick is definitely a contemporary matte – a long way of the crinkle-making, moisture sapping formulas of old. Mattes still aren’t for me, but these really have a luxury feel and look. They’re £23 each HERE.

  1. These look amazing! What kind of wear time are you getting from these? x

    1. Jane

I found they need reapplying after a couple of hours. x

      1. Thank you for the response Jane. I’ll go and have a play in store.
I love reapplying lipstick – it’s the one makeup item which I find pure joy to touch up. Don’t know why but I don’t want to let that go! x

They look so good. I’ve definitely been feeling the pull for a good Autumn berry lipstick in the last few days, which is ironic as the sun’s come back to play in London at the exact same moment. I think a trip to Selfridges is in order to take a closer look at these.

  3. I’ve only ordered two of these so far (Bond Girl, Walk of Shame), but the more swatches I see, the more I need the entire collection.

  4. Loving that Bond Girl shade…definitely going on my to buy list 🙂

What a FABULOUS box of gorgeousness – even if I never wore one of them just getting them out to swoon over would do – reminds me of new sets of pencils at the start if term – each one perfect!:)

  8. Oh my, these look beautiful! Reminds me of the gorgeous lippy sets you get around Christmas time.

I need to try the lipsticks. So far everything I tried from CT failed to meet my (very high) expectations. I just somehow expect more from a brand that cost more than Tom Ford (gram/price). They aren’t bad, just not the best.

  11. Absolutely loving these colours, so autumnal! x
