You know when a product is so cult that it doesn’t really need a title other than the most basic name? Well, that, about this. Taboo is heading for Chanel history along with Rouge Noir, Particuliere and Peridot.

It’s already launched in the US; annoyingly it doesn’t arrive in the UK til June 28th – but it IS coming, so that’s something. There are some incredible reviews of this – bloggers Stateside are loving it; I haven’t seen one negative review.

It’s a very grown-up version of Max Factor Fantasy Fire (which, if you remember, was based on the Clarins 230 nail polish that commands a fortune on Ebay for the few remaining bottles in existence).  You can see a good swatch of both HERE.

The best swatches I’ve found for Taboo are HERE. The polish is a complex mix of silver, blue and purple micro-sparkles in a purple base that gives it reddish tones. On the nail, it looks like a shimmer shot deep purple, but it’s not a pure colour – it will change with the light or from different angles. Hurry up, Chanel!

    OMG I adore it! I have an impressive collection of nail polish- I simply can’t resist I have to have different shades, mate or shimmering! Fit for day or night, summer or winter! But this Chanel Taboo is really something special: I have to have it!:)

    The one Chanel(frenzy) polish I have is fab and was worth the money in terms of colour and application – this makes me think of Opi “every month is Oktoberfest” possible budget dupe??

    I am so grateful that I already have my hands on it! Although my swatches are taken indoor at night, with flash, I still think it looks awesome! It’s become an instant favorite 😀

    I read June too. But I spoke to a someone on a Chanel counter at the weekend and she said it’s coming *after* the summer collection – they think in September. Don’t think I can wait that long!

    The Chanel boutique in Bond Street has it already. I got mine sent to me from them a couple of weeks ago! I have to say I was a bit disappointed by it. Looks fab in the bottle but just looks like a deep purple shimmer on the nail!
