It seems like months ago that I first saw Chanel Reflets D’Ete de Chanel Summer 2014 – in fact, I think it was about February time with Lisa Eldridge showing us how to use the products. The collection caused a buzz with one particular item; Eastern Light nail polish – a white polish that nail afficionados say is the best white in the world.
I’ll have to take their word for it but it’s great for a demi-French to whiten the tip over one of the other shades or a reverse French (if you have a super-fine paint brush, then use that.. it’s almost impossible with a polish brush).
Yikes.. I hadn’t realised there was so much reflection – my hand looks like a monster claw! Anyway, you can see that the line up is hot, super tropical, fruity shades – Pink Tonic, Eastern Light and another called Sweet Lilac are all limited editions. Eastern Light is a re-release.
For lips, we’re back to juicy tropical colours – these are the merest wash of colour and so pretty but easily replicated without the outlay. There are five shades – the pink shade is Sexy and the orange shade is Sunny.
Chanel Reflets D’Ete de Chanel Summer 2014 also includes two mascaras – one orange and one violet – both limited edition. I don’t have them here but there are so many coloured mascaras this season – black lashes are like, so 2013 ;-).
An existing Illusion D’Ombre in Mirage is part of the ‘look’ – a soft golden shade that’s perfect for summer days because it adds warmth to the eyes without taking you into a full on metallic. It’s a sheen of colour that glides onto the lid and it’s accompanied by two limited edition shades; Utopia and New Moon.
When you see the look put together, its so pretty – vibrant but transluscent sorbet shades mixed with stronger colours – that’s kind of summer in a nutshell. My initial post with summer looks by Lisa Eldridge is HERE.
