This is my favourite product from the Chanel Plumes Precieuses de Chanel collection – I can’t remember a palette swatching so smoothly. Every colour delivers in one swipe, even on a sponge applicator!
As always, it’s literally one swipe – the shades are so precise on the application and deliver such a strong level of pigment; I’ve got to admit, I’m a bit obsessed with this. The palette is called Oiseaux de Nuit (Birds of the Night) and has silvery-white and warm gold, a lavender hued grey and a deeper, charcoal colour and then there’s the black! It’s the strongest black shadow I’ve ever seen I think. I like to think I’d put it all over my lid and style it out, but I’ll probably chicken out at the last minute and use it as a liner!

How I wish this was a really good quality product… I would love to love this palette, as I would love to love the perlée and matelassée palettes I already have. But sadly I can’t say anything else about them, but that as to the quality both of them turned out to be far below my expectation. Even below average, I’d say. Which is just too sad, as I hardly may have been in love with any palette like I was with these particular Chanel Christmas ones. But they simply and undoubtedly did not have a very good colour payoff once on the lid, and didn’t last normally long either. Although I had decided not to buy one again, I am urgently hoping for this year’s palette to be better. If it is, I may change my mind. I would love to.
