[unpaid/sample] I’ve got some gorgeous products to show you this week and what better way to start than with a CHANEL update. Both Rouge Allure Laque and Rouge Allure Ink Fusion have new shades with Laque being my preference. Ink Fusion is known for its staying power but also for the very flat matte finish it produces – it’s delicious if you have lovely smooth lips and a steady hand but I prefer the more forgiving format of Laque.
I have a small selection here to show you – two new Laques and one new Ink Fusion. The attention to detail on the bottles sees the matte finish in a matte bottle and box and the shines in shiny boxes and bottles.
We are all familiar with the doe’s foot applicator and also a curved doe’s foot but it turns out that the curve angle is more important than you might think so that you get a perfect hug around the lip. That means – in theory – that you can apply in two sweeps, one across the top and one across the bottom but in practice I don’t think there is any such thing as a single sweep but this is the nearest I’ve come across. I tend to do two sweeps on the bottom and two at the top starting from the middle of the cupid’s bow and blending out. I haven’t really dissected the application process in such detail in my head before but here we are. And I don’t use the same application process for bullet lipsticks – I seem to start at one side and finish at the other. Next time you’re applying take a note and let me know how you do it! I’d love to know.
So, the shades I have are (Fusion) 844 Rouge Imprevu, a bright and vibrant red with a pink-orange undertone, (Laque) 84 Rose Ambigu, a greyed, dusky pink-brown shade and 86 Rouge Captivant, a blue toned, intense red. Other new shades in Fusion are: 838 Orange Enigmatique, 840 Rouge Paradoxal, 842 Rouge Distinctif, 846 Rouge Particulier and 848 Brun Mysterieux. Other new shades in Laque are: 82 Beige Confidentiel, 83 Beige Secret, 85 Corail Alternatif, 87 Rouge Irregulier. They’re £33 HERE. On me below:
