[unpaid/sample/ad] This is a picture heavy post I know but everything is so beautiful, I didn’t want to miss anything out – as it is, I’m splitting the collection into two posts. So, as we know, Les Beiges is traditionally a summer collection from CHANEL but the concept has been tipped on its head to incorporate a wintery slant. Rather than warming the tone, the products cool the tone, and it’s actually quite amazing how the light takes to this effect. Winter light is nobody’s friend but the way the pigments are used to give a kind of rosy effect means that you do look a bit ‘just back from a healthy mountain walk’. Being reasonable, it’s not going to miraculously transport you to St Moritz but there’s definitely something about the light bounce back that indicates impressive understanding of seasonal skin.

Starting with the Healthy Winter Glow Primer (£48) which I think will probably be the most popular product – my shade is Icy Beige which has a peachy iridescence. I’d say it has a more of a veil effect than anything and doesn’t make you look glittery.

It’s a translucent finish and uses camellia seed and hyaluronic to hydrate and a dash of microalgae to give antioxidant protection. I used it on my complexion with nothing else at all. There are two other tones – Frosty White with a lilac iridescence and Light Copper with a coppery-pink iridescence.

I’m going to address the little white dots on my jumper which for the life of me I couldn’t work out – it’s definitely not dandruff. Eventually I realised that at the launch of the collection, they had a lot of fake snow and Dora (who I took with me) got some on her paws which then transferred to me when I picked her up. So, I feel this is a nice result from a primer (I have the blush over the top which is coming up in another (snowflakey) post). It would be great under a tinted SPF.

This is the Longwear Colour Corrector in Peach which I didn’t use – it’s not part of the collection but would be helpful in going foundation free used in combination with the primer. It’s for neutralising redness (for olive tones) so you could use it under your eyes or anywhere that you’re not happy with un-evenness. It’s £32.

My favourite item from the CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Winter Glow collection is the Rouge Coco Baume in Keep Cool. There are four shades – Chilling Pink (more or less translucent), Dreamy White (transparent white pearl), Keep Cool (icy mauve beige) and Cocoon (a deep rosewood). I get just enough frosting from Keep Cool to make my lips look sheeny but it’s the mauve that sits within the beige that has stolen my heart.

To me, that’s perfect. All the Coco Baums are £34 each.

The two nail polishes, Glaciale and Skieuse, are probably the least exciting but I can see why they’re there. Particularly Skieuse, which has a little frosting to it and is designed to be worn minimally. It’s pretty – both of them give the nail a very clean look and they’re £29 each.

Here is the little snow spreader! She had the most lovely time – and behaved herself impeccably (thank goodness!) – totally at home in a luxury environment – quelle surprise! You can find the whole CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Winter Glow collection HERE.
