Chanel Les 4 Ombres Swatched

I managed to get my hands on three of the gorgeous, new Les 4 Ombres palettes – Chanel promised a new formula, and it’s a very impressive one. When I used my little swatch brush, the formula feels almost creamy it’s so soft, but when I dabbed with my fingers it feels almost silky – and again very soft. For shadows that are so soft, there is remarkably little dust from them – although there is a little bit.

Chanel Tisse Cambon

First up, Chanel Tissé Cambon. So, you can see for yourself the shades, and actually, although my natural leaning is towards deeper, more neutral led colours, this one is my favourite of the three.

The pink shades has elements of gold in it and is the perfect partner for all of the accompanying colours – they’re great for wearing on their own or blending, although I can’t see myself trying to get all four on one eye!

Tissé Gabrielle is more muted for a deep smokey look.

There’s a metallic element to all the shades.

Chanel Tisse Vendome

The beautiful peach shade in Tissé Vendome is totally a winner for me; you can summer it up or winter it down and everything in between – this is the most versatile palette of the three I think.

There are accents of gold and soft brown. Longevity wise, I haven’t tested them for that yet.

I love that I can tell the formula is totally different – I know that Chanel has banished talc from their new formula and it feels like they’ve added oil; if I squish it between my fingers, it feels almost moisturising. Anyway, happy to be able to share – I think these are just going to fly off the shelves. The quads will cost £40 each from March 2014.

Tisse Gabrielle looks really interesting. Great post, thanks!

  4. I love the look of all three, it’s my birthday soon and I’d love to be able to invest in my first Chanel palette. The colours look so wearable in the swatches so they’ll be a heavily used investment. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it *coughs*

    Can’t wait!

  5. I think all three look beautiful, though Tisse Venom might just be my favourite. The formula sounds amazing too. xx

  6. I have one of these palettes in smokey eyes, love it so much. New shades look gorgeous!

I like the look of the 2nd one, nice and smoky looks will be perfectly made with it. May have to invest in one of those.

  12. I almost never wear eye shadow, but Vendome and Cambon would be gorgeous for bridal makeup, which I sometimes do. And they have none of that crazy sparkle that seemed to fall out of so many new releases over the last several years. Thanks for this!
