Chanel Le Coton

Okay, here’s the big unwrap of the Chanel cotton wools squares that Mr BBB kindly picked up on a recent trip to NYC. They’re not available in the UK currently. So, it’s $20 for the cotton wool squares and for that you get a very swanky box, gorgeously packaged with 100 squares contained inside. The blub says that it is a ‘soft tri-layer pad developed in Japan with an outer lining made from handpicked Egyptian cotton and the inner filling comprises of elastic Australian fibres’. So, what’s the deal? Are they really better than the £1.99 ones from Boots? Certainly, they come with all the Chanel pazazz – sleek box, tissue paper covering the squares, and the squares are generously sized with each one imprinted with the iconic Chanel double C logo. The pads actually do feel softer than a normal cotton pad and my first impression is that they feel *ironed*…immaculately pressed and when you remove your make up they feel extremely silky on the skin. There are none of the stray strands that you often find with regular cotton wool. The upshot I think is that Le Coton is an absolute indulgence, totally unnecessary but so luxy and such a treat they’re hard to resist! I’m sold, anyway, for an occasional dazzle-up to the chore of cleansing.

These are so delightfully decadent. I’d never buy them because of the outrageous price, but I can image feeling thoroughly spoiled owning these. Ultimate pampering.

Compared to some premium brand cotton I’ve brought from Japan these don’t seem so bad for the price given the luxury *lemming* haha.

This cotton, although it can be used as so – isn’t really intended for taking off make-up. It’s more for putting on lotion/lotion masks. There are different ways of doing it, but the basic idea is to saturate the cotton pad in lotion (not to be confused with western toner), peel into layers and apply on face. It’s also so stretchy so you can stretch a layer to say cover your forehead.

I don’t know if you already knew of this, but if not I hope it gives you better use out of them to justify the price 8D

Also, loving the blog as always <3

I received a box of these cotton pads in a Chanel gift bag I was lucky to receive at a gallery opening in London. Of course, it seems that it is ridiculous to spend $20.00 on cotton pads…but I must say that they are incredibly, wonderfully soft. If you have money to burn on luxury cotton balls….then you will absolutely love them. They are gorgeous. As for me…I’ll be saving my pennies….
