Ooh, a lovely little capsule collection from Chanel; Rouge Allure moiré. The collection is inspired by fabrics and ribbons – to infuse the shades with a moiré effect, formulators have used mother-of-pearl to create a gold, bronze or copper effect.
There are eight lipstick shades in the Rouge Allure Moire collection; above are Farouche (bottom), Indecise (top) and Enigmatique in the middle.
So, you can see from the swatch that there is definitely an underlying not-quite-metallic effect but more of a glimmer of pearl.
First blogger fail.. sticky finger prints! Sorry. But moving on.. this is one mega intense gloss.
I’m wearing it now and literally drained every last shred of colour from my face so you need to really warm up your tone (or literally go Cruella DeVille cool) to maximise it. I always think these super dark vampy glosses look best with little other make-up but a lightly tanned complexion. I always get make-up envy when I see that successfully done and suspect its dependent on a really good self tan for the face. There is another shade of Gloss; more forgiving and friendly in Reflexion – a fresh, red-pink.
I’m totally in my comfort zone with both these gorgeous shades; the lighter one is Rose Moire with grey undertones and the darker one is Rouge Moire with raspberry tones.
The collection launches in September.
