When I reviewed the Spring Chanel Coco Code, there were a few lipsticks that I didn’t get the chance to swatch up, so thought I’d quickly do it now. From left to right: Rouge Velvet Libre, Rouge Velvet La Secrete, Rouge Allure Ardente and Rouge Coco Shine in Beige Dore.
I’m really taken with Beige Dore – it just gives a swipe of glossy sheen with a tiny bit of golden shimmer over the lips or on top of any other shade if you want to give it something extra.
As you’d expect, there is plenty of pigment in these – the the swatches from bottom to top, you can see Rouge Velvet Libre, Rouge Velvet La Secrete, Rouge Allure Ardente and Rouge Coco Shine in Beige Dore. Because I’m not a fan of mattes, I’ve tried putting Beige Dore over La Secrete and it gives it a heightened peachy shade and a gorgeous sheen.
I’ve been looking around the internet at reviews of the Coco Code collection which hits stores at the end of the month in the UK, it doesn’t seem to have been very popular amongst bloggers. It’s kind of anti-spring, in a way, because there is none of the expected ‘pretty’ around it, but it’s very ‘bonne mine’ and Mediterranean in personality. That’s what I love about it – that it goes against expectations, but we shall see!
